Classic thrown ware

Somerset Countryware was first created in 1984 whilst I was working in Langport. Up until this time I had been making mostly hand built pieces but the need to fill the kiln more quickly led me to making more thrown ware. Small pieces up to 5lbs(2.25kgs) weight of clay are thrown on a modified Leach kick wheel. Prices range from £28 to £250. Email me if there is anything of interest or visit one of the stockists. Handbuilt pieces

As I use a kick wheel for thrown ware I am physically unable to throw large pieces. I use slab construction and press moulds for larger items, two of my favourite techniques.
